Independence Day 2015

Happy Fourth of July!

We spent the weekend camping and hiking in western Maine in the Bigelow Preserve. Beautiful, undeveloped, wooded areas.

We camped on Flagstaff Lake and woke up the next morning to hike to the top of Avery Peak, which was a little over 4 miles each way and 3000 feet of elevation gain.

What was once to be the "Aspen of the East" is miles and miles of nothing. Well, nothing to some, but everything to others! We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and peaceful weekend.
