Boxes of brews

We came home from work to so many pleasant surprises today! I haven't mentioned this on here, but we are getting married in a little less than a month. Exciting times. One really fun thing about getting married that no one told me about is that, unlike birthday gifts, you get to open some wedding gifts before the big day!

It was like Christmas morning tearing into our boxes tonight. One was a very sweet gift from a family member, the other was actually a gift to ourselves...more green coffee beans to roast! But still, very exciting.

So let's start with the beer! Priorities of course...

Love Child No. 4 from Boulevard Brewing Company's Smokestack Series, a barrel aged wild ale. Just my style. We were told that this is supposed to inspire the next generation of the family...we'll see about that. I'm sooo excited to give this one a try. One of our favorite beers is Tank 7 from Boulevard, a farmhouse saison, so crossing my fingers that this is just as good.

Signal De Botrange from Elevation Beer Co, a saison aged in chardonnay barrels. A little homage to our 6ish years in Colorado, I suppose, since Elevation is in Poncha Springs. The note said that the first year of marriage can be the hardest, so we should try to save one of these for our first fight...we'll see about that one too. Not sure if I could wait that long!

Next up was a box from Sweet Maria's. A little sampler of 8 lbs. of green beans to roast, including a nice photograph of some coffee farmers.

So now we have to get to roasting. It's nights like this where I feel very blessed!

  1. That's big news congratulations, that's so exciting!!!! And some great gifts to celebrate, enjoy!

  2. Thanks so much! It is amazing how fast it has come up. As you can see through our animal and beer adventures, we don't leave much time for wedding planning so it will be a nice casual day full of good friends and family :) I can't wait to try these beers!
